Jon Stewart: Money in politics the true winner of the 2014 midterm elections

The Daily Show declared money in politics as the true victor of the 2014 midterm elections, in an acknowledgement of just how much money was spent on all the races this past year.

Before adjusting for inflation, this year’s congressional races were the most expensive ever. The Senate race in North Carolina, for example, was the costliest in history.

And although we have a clearer understanding of who donated all that money compared to the previous two national elections, we still don’t know who funded 30 percent of outside spending in 2014.
