The study found that 86 percent of adults planned to spend time with their extended friends and family, as well as buy gifts. Nine in 10 adults reported also doing these activities as children.
People said that they were much more likely to attend religious services on Christmas Eve or Day and send Christmas or holiday cards as children than as adults.
Perhaps the least surprising is the difference in people who pretend Santa Claus will visit their homes during Christmas. While 72 percent of adults say they typically did this as a child, only 31 percent said they continue this tradition.
