Donald Trump said he wanted to punch a protester in the face, and the crowd cheered

Donald Trump loves the good ol’ days when, apparently, you could punch protesters in the face.

At a campaign rally in Las Vegas, he stirred up the crowd after he was interrupted by a protester.

“You know what I hate?” Trump said to a cheering crowd. “There’s a guy, totally disruptive, throwing out punches, and we aren’t allowed to punch back anymore. I love the old days. You know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They used to carry them out in a stretcher.”

Contrary to Trump’s claims, CNN reported that the protester was not fighting the crowd or the security guards.

“Here is a guy throwing punches, nasty as hell, screaming at everything else when we are talking, and we are not allowed — you know the guards are gentle with him, he’s walking, like big high-fives smiling, laughing. I’d like to punch him in the face,” Trump said.

Las Vegas seems to bring out Trump’s more aggressive side, this being the second time the presidential candidate has fostered the idea of beating up a protester in Nevada’s sin city.

Last November, Trump supporters physically assaulted a Black Lives Matters demonstrator at one of his Las Vegas rallies and were caught on tape yelling, “Light the motherfucker on fire!” and “Sieg hell!,” to which Trump later noted “maybe he should have been roughed up.”

Despite all of this, Trump frequently says there is one good thing about protesters at his rallies: They bring the press.

Many have attributed Trump’s rise to his ability to gain attention in the press. Undoubtedly, this is no exception.
