Practice Fusion Doubles Space, Moves Into Zynga’s HQ

The electronic medical records company is expanding fast following a $70M funding round.

Practice Fusion is relocating its headquarters to the South of Market neighborhood of San Francisco, taking a big bite of space at the building Zynga purchased just months before the social gaming business hit the skids.

The fast-growing electronic medical records company didn’t disclose the size of the lease at 650 Townsend St., but said it was more than double its current headquarters. Real estate sources say the business occupies just shy of 50,000 square feet at its existing space near the Union Square shopping district, suggesting the deal is around 100,000 square feet.

Practice Fusion raised $70 million last fall in a round led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and now employs more than 300.

It’s unclear how much of the space, if any, was previously occupied by Zynga, which has laid off hundreds of employees. At one point the company reportedly occupied around 65 percent of the 670,000-square-foot building, which it purchased for $228 million in early 2012.
