Matt Mullenweg, the young founder behind Web development company Automattic, announced Monday he will be taking over as CEO of the company. Toni Schneider, the company’s CEO for the past eight years, will move into a role focused on the company’s new products. Automattic, of course, is the parent company of WordPress.com, the Web-hosting service that has tried to position itself as a hot Internet company over the past few years — especially in the wake of Tumblr’s rapid ascent to fame.
