In the latest sign that “American Idol” has lost its cool factor, AT&T confirmed Wednesday that it is ending its long-running sponsorship of the show. “We’ve been proud to be a part of this groundbreaking TV series for the past 12 years,” AT&T said in a statement. “We wish our friends at ‘American Idol’ continued success.”
