Google Ventures Partner Wesley Chan Becomes EIR

Google Ventures partner Wesley Chan will be leaving his investing role to become an entrepreneur in residence at the firm, he said today. Chan has spent nearly 12 years at Google, but he divides those years into eras of finding new projects, helping them grow and moving on: That includes Google Analytics, Google Voice and Google Ventures. Now he has ideas about something new he wants to start — and he’s doing so under the Google umbrella, of course. Maybe one day he will actually fly the coop. Chan’s investments in companies such as AngelList and Firespotter Labs (UberConference) will be passed to other partners.
