The Affair is the best new show this fall. Watch the first episode for free here.

Showtime has a gem in its hands in its new drama The Affair. It's the kind of show that's so good that it makes you think about making a deal with the devil (your cable company), so you can watch the whole season or, you know, tap into the dark magic of torrenting (if you are not a good supporter of television). It's a show that does some interesting things with storytelling, which we won't spoil. And it's a show that has a terrific cast, including Dominic West, Maura Tierney, Josh Jackson, and Ruth Wilson. In fact, we named it the best new show of the fall.

Because taste is taste and Showtime knows it has something really good, the first episode of the series has been made available on YouTube. (Fair warning: there are some NSFW moments.) Watch it above.

The Affair premieres on Showtime on Sunday at 10 p.m. Eastern.
