Slack — the workplace collaboration tool that was recently valued at $1.12 billion after raising $120 million — has hired Bill Macaitis, former CMO at Zendesk, as its marketing head. Macaitis left Zendesk after its IPO earlier this year. Previous to that job, he was SVP of online marketing and operations at Salesforce. The high-growth startup, which said that it has attracted 73,000 daily active paid users whose companies pay $6 to $12 per month since it launched in February, also recently hired well-regarded privacy exec Anne Toth to lead policy and compliance.
