Amazon announced Monday evening that its Fresh grocery delivery business was expanding to Philadelphia, beginning with the city’s Center City section. The news confirms a Re/code report from September that Amazon would use a New Jersey warehouse to store fresh foods to be delivered to Philadelphia, in addition to New York City. Amazon Prime members in Philadelphia can get same-day and next-day delivery of groceries for no extra charge through year’s end. Next year, they’ll have to upgrade to a $299 Prime Fresh membership.
