After Obama’s big Cuba announcement, a White House guest gave him a Cuban cigar

President Obama announced plans to normalize relations with Cuba on Wednesday — and at a White House Hanukkah reception later that day, he got a very fitting gift. Ali Dudakis of ABC News reports that one party guest handed Obama what he said was a Cuban cigar, and ABC has the video:

The gift-giver, John Berzner of Colorado, told ABC that he had no idea about the huge Cuba announcement when he brought the cigar to Washington. Also, it’s worth noting that the new policies haven’t yet been enacted, so Cuban cigars are still illegal. For more on why Cuban cigars are so prized, check out this great rundown from Dylan Matthews.
