Specifically, Netflix’s next big home-grown series will be the second season of “Orange Is the New Black,” and it will be out June 6, the company announced today.
If you’ve spent a lot of time watching the new “House of Cards,” you may already know this, since Netflix put in an easter egg announcement at the end of the new season’s last episode. For the rest of you, here’s the 15-second version:

“Orange Is the New Black” doesn’t inspire as many chin-stroking pieces about the future of TV as “House of Cards,” but it’s very important for Netflix. Last year, the series was a sleeper hit, and last summer it out-performed both “House of Cards” and Netflix’s “Arrested Development” reboot in its first week. So you’re going to hear a lot more about it this time around.
One indicator of the ravenous fan base for the yuppie-in-women’s-prison dramedy (which really is great — we hammered last season in about a week and a half): That 15-second clip you just saw has already racked up more than 110,000 views in less than a day, says YouTube.
