As if Facebook needed to know more about what you’re up to! The social networking giant has acquired ProtoGeo Oy, the Finnish company behind the popular Moves mobile app. Moves passively tracks users’ walking, running and cycling activities without any kind of additional wristband or workout gadget, by utilizing the sensors on iPhone and Android smartphones. It’s unclear how much Facebook paid for the Moves maker; the company said in a statement that Moves will continue to operate as a standalone app.
