SOLS Systems, a company in the middle of the coming phenomenon of “mass customization” enabled by 3D printing, has raised $6.4 million in Series A funding led by Lux Capital with Founders Fund, RRE, Rothenberg Ventures, Felicis Ventures, FundersGuild and Grape Arbor VC. SOLS’ first product is a custom insole sold by doctors; it plans to sell directly to the public next year.
