Verizon to Introduce Video, High-Definition Voice Calling

Verizon Wireless said it will use the rollout of its voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) service later this year to also add video calling and improved HD Voice calling. The service, which delivers voice and video over the mobile carrier’s high-speed data network, requires compatible smartphones — the first of which will go on sale later this year. AT&T said it would introduce high-definition voice service on May 23 in parts of Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin, while Sprint and Verizon have also added HD Voice support.
