Tipping Point founder and CEO Daniel Lurie announced today that his foundation had successfully raised the $10 million they’d targeted from 20 Bay Area tech companies, including Apple and Google. Conceived as a 60-day challenge called SF Gives in partnership with Salesforce founder Marc Benioff, the fundraising push will continue now that the two months have passed (Benioff, who has indicated he is not above strong-arming hesitant tech CEOs, has said he wants to reach $100 million). The announcement comes the day before Tipping Point’s massive benefit dinner along Pier 48, headlined this year by OneRepublic.
