Google-owned Nest, which took its Protect smoke and carbon monoxide alarm off the market after it found evidence in its lab that the device might be silenced with a “Wave” gesture in an actual emergency, is back to selling the alarms. The newly available devices don’t have the Wave feature, and they will cost $99, down from $129.
