Alibaba, Google vs. Apple, and Payments: Re/code in the Media This Week

The week in Re/code TV and radio appearances.

If you’re an avid observer, you might catch a glimpse of the Re/code beasts emerging from the shelter of their laptops and the camouflage of their Twitter handles to actually utter things in public, live or via satellite link, multiple times per week. Or, you can just tune in for this regular roundup.

As we do every week, Re/code reporters guested on programs on TV and radio to provide perspectives on the stories we’re covering. This week, most of those were with our partners at CNBC. Here’s where you can catch up:

Kara Swisher discussed the Alibaba IPO as the Chinese e-commerce company chose the NYSE for its public debut, where it may be valued at as much as $26 billion.

She also joined a conversation about the battle over the smart home between Google, Apple and others:

Speaking of Google and Apple, I discussed the pair’s growing rivalry on NPR’s Here and Now in the lead-up to Google I/O.

Jason Del Rey handicapped the future of mobile payments in a segment for CNBC Tech Drivers.

Finally, I gave an introduction to Cruise, a self-driving car startup developing an advanced form of autopilot.
