Uber announced a new delivery business experiment on Tuesday, in which customers in Washington, D.C., can order products like diapers or cold medicine delivered by Uber drivers. The service, dubbed Corner Store, is only available in certain areas of the District and currently delivers a limited list of products. Customers who toggle to the Corner Store option in the app will receive a text message from a driver with the inventory list; the driver will then call the customer to take the order. Shoppers pay for their orders, but do not pay a separate delivery fee.
