Elon Musk Promises Tesla Owners Better-Placed Cup Holders, Maybe

Tesla’s head honcho responds to an ad taken out by New Yorkers who have some notes on how to improve the Model S.

Tesla Motors

Tesla Motors Chief Executive Elon Musk has your back, semi-disgruntled Model S owners, promising in a tweet Friday night that some important changes are coming to the electric car.

Musk was responding to a full-page newspaper ad taken out Friday in the Palo Alto Daily News by two unnamed “VERY highly satisfied” New York Tesla owners who have a few notes on how to improve the plush ride.

Better-placed cup holders would be nice, they suggested. Changing the depth of the sun visor would help shorter drivers, and some blind spot monitors wouldn’t hurt, okay?

Obviously, Musk didn’t say which of the suggested improvements would be forthcoming. So stay tuned, short, Starbucks-swilling would-be Tesla owners. The Model S will set you back at least $71,000 if you pay cash, although the car’s price is moderately more reasonable for residents of six states (including California) who are eligible for a $7,500 tax credit.
