Database software company MongoDB named Dev Ittycheria, the former CEO of BladeLogic, as its new CEO, effective Sept. 3. Current CEO Max Schireson was named vice chairman. Ittycheria founded BladeLogic, a server automation company, in 2001 and took it public in 2007. BMC Software acquired it for about $900 million in 2009. He then ran BMC’s $1.4 billion enterprise service business. He joined the venture capital firm Greylock Partners in 2012, and then went on to join OpenView Venture Partners as managing director in 2013.
