Two topics dominated the tech world this week: The release of Apple’s new line of iPhones and the historic IPO of the giant Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba. Re/code journalists took some time to step away from our computers and in front of TV cameras to provide insight on these two important events.

Co-Executive Editor Walt Mossberg joined the “Squawk Alley” crew on CNBC this week to discuss his definitive review of the new iPhone 6. “It’s the best smartphone you can buy,” he said.
Fellow reviewer Lauren Goode was also a guest on CNBC this week, where she discussed highlights from her clever and fun review of Apple’s new phablet, the iPhone 6 Plus.
Re/code’s other co-Executive Editor, Kara Swisher, offered her thoughts on a bunch of topics related to Alibaba and its largest-ever tech IPO. The big question, Swisher said: How will Alibaba spend the gobs of new cash it raised in its offering?
Lastly, Swisher appeared on CNBC to discuss the controversial comments investor Peter Thiel made about Twitter’s management team and Uber’s business practices.
“When VCs start to talk about ethics,” Swisher said, “I run for the hills.”
Swisher was also on NPR’s radio show, “Here & Now,” talking about what Alibaba is going to do with its $25 billion from the epic IPO:
