What is mobile these days?

Well, what isn’t?

Everything we used to do at our desks, we do on the go these days, along with plenty of things we just couldn’t do before.

In preparing the lineup for Code/Mobile, we’ve tried to offer a glimpse at both the technologies that are changing the game as well as some of the players seizing on the opportunities of a changed game.

On the hardware side, we have longtime Apple executive Greg Joswiak as well as Motorola President Rick Osterloh. When it comes to software and services, we have YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, the founders of WhatsApp and Instagram and the head of Wikipedia, as well as the leaders of a bunch of startups you will be hearing a lot more about in the coming year.

Always-outspoken John Legere will talk about how he has taken T-Mobile U.S., once a distant No. 4 player, and made it a serious force in the industry. On the global side of things, Anand Chandrasekaran, the product chief of Indian carrier Airtel, will talk about the just-launched Android One program and how emerging markets are leading the way in payments and other areas.

Mobile is expanding beyond phones and tablets to cars, wearables and other devices; smartphones are changing how we live, how we learn and how we pay for things. And we have some of the smartest names in the business to help understand these changes. The full lineup of speakers is here.

But, of course, what makes a Code conference a Code conference isn’t just who is being interviewed, but who is doing the interviewing. Each session is an unscripted interview with one of our journalists, led by Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher.
