Interactive: A fascinating timeline of tweets about the Hong Kong protests

The protests in Hong Kong have escalated not just on the street, but also on social media, with a little over 1.3 million tweets on the topic over the weekend.

Twitter’s Reverb and data teams have been collecting all tweets related to the protests from September 26 to September 29, and have released a timeline documenting the most contentious periods of the evolving movement.
