Apparently a sitcom about an African-American family living in Los Angeles is a big hit among members of a certain African-American family in the White House.

According to Anthony Anderson, who stars alongside Tracee Ellis Ross on ABC's "Black-ish," the comedy is a must-watch on Wednesday nights for the Obamas.

“I was at the White House about a month ago and met the president and first lady and the first thing out of their mouth was, ‘We love ‘Black-ish.’ So that came as a shock,” he told the New York Times in a Saturday red carpet interview at the B.E.T. Honors.

“It’s Sasha and the first lady’s favorite show,” Anderson said Michelle Obama told him. “Those are her words.”

“Black-ish” senior executive producer Larry Wilmore has said that while the series uses the middle class African-American experience as a jumping-off point, “at heart it’s a family show.”

Still, the insight into the Obamas’ pop culture preferences is sure to provide material for the president’s critics and those concerned with “reverse racism.” Donald Trump, according to an October tweet, was flabergasted that a program containing the word “black” was even allowed to air.
