When all is said and done, Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne, and Peter Parker will always be Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man. Despite some plot twists and ill-timed deaths, those characters will always be the alter egos of the iconic superheroes we’ve known for over 50 years.

But that isn’t to say these heroes are immune to change. The visual designs of these characters have changed. And so have their logos. Over the years, artists have tweaked the logos — the important touchstones we use to define these characters — to suit the cultural zeitgeist of the moment.
Someone growing up in the ‘60s probably has a different sense of what the Bat Signal looks like, than a Millennial will. And in 2013, the powers behind Man of Steel, made headlines after tweaking Superman’s iconic “S.”
