Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump continues to dominate discourse on social media heading into Tuesday night’s CNN candidates’ debate in Las Vegas.

Trump generates more noise on Facebook and Twitter than his campaign compatriots.

The real estate mogul generated nearly four times the volume of conversation on Facebook as the nearest candidate, Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, according to the social network.
Nearly 23.3 million people in the U.S. had something to say about Trump, liking, commenting or sharing a post — more than 115.9 million times, according to Facebook. Clinton, by comparison, drew comments from some 8.4 million people who talked about or shared stories about the former U.S. Senator and Secretary of State 33.4 million times.
Social media’s fixation on Trump is also reflected on Twitter, where he has consistently towered over his GOP rivals, Twitter reported.
The one-time reality star has seen his share of the Twitter conversation decline since September. But conversations about Trump hit fever pitch on the platform last week, following the candidate’s call to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the U.S. in the wake of the terror attack in San Bernardino.
There were about 3.5 million Tweets sent last week mentioning Trump, which is about double his weekly average.
