Aquaman is perhaps one of the most misunderstood members of the Justice League. The knock on him is that while his colleagues have abilities like indestructibility, super strength, super speed, and unmatched intelligence, Aquaman is known for having the power to … talk to sea life.

What kind of gets lost in the shuffle, is that Aquaman is also blessed with super strength, agility, healing, durability, and fighting skills. And Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder seems to be focusing into those things. Snyder tweeted out the first picture of Jason Momoa as Aquaman on Thursday night:

Momoa’s Aquaman looks like a carnal badass — grittier, darker, and rougher than the clean-cut blonde in the orange suit that we’ve come to know. It’s as if Khal Drogo was genetically spliced with a medieval Poseidon.

The hashtag “unite the seven” looks like it refers to the other members of the Justice League, and hints that we might see Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) soon.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to be released on March 25, 2016.
