LinkedIn Co-Founder Konstantin Guericke Joins RallyPoint Board

RallyPoint is also on the hunt for more funding.

RallyPoint

LinkedIn co-founder Konstantin Guericke has joined the board of directors at RallyPoint, a professional network specifically for veterans and active military members, he told Re/code.

Guericke will serve as an independent board member for the company, which means he is not an investor. Instead, he’ll provide guidance as RallyPoint moves forward with possible revenue plans, he added.

RallyPoint is also exploring another round of funding, Guericke confirmed. The startup took $5.3 million in late 2013, but should bring on another round of financing “sometime in 2015.”

RallyPoint, which was founded a little over two years ago, has 500,000 members, up from 325,000 in September. Half of those 500,000 are active military members, to whom the service is especially helpful.

Networking within the military isn’t common, and transitioning from active duty to civilian life can be tough, particularly when it comes to translating prior job experience. Those are some of the challenges RallyPoint is looking to solve.

For Guericke, RallyPoint isn’t the first professional network he has joined outside of LinkedIn. He is also an independent director at Doximity, a professional network for doctors and other medical professionals.
