LinkedIn Acquires Careerify, Eyes New Referral Technology

LinkedIn has acquired Careerify, a Toronto-based startup with job-finding software. The company will shut down all of its products except for a referral product that helps companies find new hires from an existing employee’s network of contacts. The Careerify team is small; three of its four employees will join LinkedIn’s Mountain View, Calif., headquarters. A spokesperson declined to comment on the terms of the deal.
