Pinterest announced Friday that it has “acqhired” the duo behind Hike Labs, a San Francisco-based mobile publishing startup. Jason Shellen and Mike Demers will join Pinterest as a product manager and engineer, respectively, and Hike Labs will shut down. No technology was acquired in the deal, according to a Pinterest spokesperson, who declined to share deal terms. It’s unclear what projects the two will work on at Pinterest, but both have significant experience in the tech world. Shellen helped develop Blogger and also worked on Google Reader; Demers is the former CTO of Q&A site YouSaidIt (among other positions).
