Yet another company hit the billion-dollar mark, and a different one took on millions in investment promising to return the favor with millions in advertising. Here’s the funding news from Silicon Valley this week:

  • With its $52 million investment in the security management startup Tanium, Andreessen Horowitz’s total investment in the company comes to $142 million — making it the firm’s single biggest investment. Up from $900 million last year, Tanium is now valued at $1.75 billion.
  • Sprinklr, a company that helps brands handle social media, raised $46 million in new funding that puts the company’s value at $1.17 billion. Sprinklr’s total funding stands at over $123 million, and investors include Battery Ventures, Intel Capital and Iconiq Capital.

  • Smartnews, which makes a mobile news-reading app, landed a $10 million bridge funding round led by the mobile gaming company Gree. The move puts Smartnews’ value at $320 million.
  • DroneDeploy, one of the country’s largest drone makers, raised $9 million in a Series A funding round led by Emergence Capital. The company recently announced a partnership with China’s DJI, the world’s largest consumer drone maker (San Francisco Business Times).
