There’s now iOS emoji for every national flag in the world

Pledge allegiance to these new flag emojis on iOS. Apple users could always incorporate any of the standard 37 flags offered previously, and can now use up to 208 national emoji flags, built by Quartz:

It doesn’t render on all phones or devices, so sometimes you just won’t see flags. For example, I tweeted the character limitation’s worth of Mexican flag emojis, which render as the letters “M” and “X” on TweetDeck:

For flag enthusiasts and globally minded texters, this is a welcome advancement in emoji-based diplomacy. There are also rumors that Apple included new flags in its iOS 9 lineup:
