Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe: The Full Code Conference Interview (Video)

The virtual reality pioneer’s CEO preaches potential, advises patience.

Lots of companies are rushing into virtual reality again, but Oculus helped spark the revival when it launched a Kickstarter project for the developer version of its Oculus Rift headset back in 2012.

The $2.5 million campaign drew the eyes of investors like Andreessen Horowitz and tech giants like Facebook, which acquired the company for around $2 billion last year.

Now Oculus and its numerous competitors are barreling toward consumer release dates for their virtual reality headsets, with many spread out over the next year.

What will VR mean for the future of gaming and media? When will that impact be felt? How much will it cost? Will kids be able to use it? Is it actually safe?

Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe joined Re/code’s Walt Mossberg onstage at the Code Conference last month to answer all of these questions and more. See video of the full interview below:
