Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin to Apple’s Tim Cook: I’m Sorry!

We’ve gone too far!

Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin did something you almost never see in Hollywood: He apologized.

The Oscar-winning screenwriter, who penned the upcoming “Steve Jobs” movie, lashed out at Apple CEO Tim Cook on Friday. The Apple executive had called the filmmaker “opportunistic” for turning the life of his friend and former boss into a controversy-laden film.

Sorkin’s response: “If you’ve got a factory full of children in China assembling phones for 17 cents an hour, you’ve got a lot of nerve calling someone else opportunistic.”

By Saturday, Sorkin had walked back his comments. “You know what, I think that Tim Cook and I probably both went a little too far,” Sorkin told E! News. “And I apologize to Tim Cook. I hope when he sees the movie, he enjoys it as much as I enjoy his products.”

The film, which stars Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet and Seth Rogen, is scheduled for release on Oct. 9.
