AT&T Adds Two Million Customers in Third Quarter, Including Some Gains in Phones

AT&T also reiterated its full-year financial guidance, including plans for a double-digit revenue increase and profit margin expansion.

AT&T said Tuesday that it expects to add more than two million wireless customers in the current quarter, including some on the phone side of things.

The company has been posting strong customer gains in recent quarters largely thanks to adding connected cars and tablets while T-Mobile has been gobbling up most of the growth among phone customers. T-Mobile has already said it expects this quarter’s gains to outpace the 2.1 million customers it added last quarter.

AT&T also reiterated its full-year financial guidance, including plans for double-digit revenue growth and profit margin expansion, even amid some foreign currency pressure. It also said its “early integration efforts with DirecTV are going well and are in line or better than expectations.”

The company made the preliminary earnings announcement ahead of an analyst conference on Wednesday. It will announce full results on Oct. 22.
