Even millennials think millennials are the worst

Most millennials don’t want to be millennials, probably because they think millennials are terrible.

A new report from the Pew Research Center finds that only 40 percent of 18- to 34-year-olds describe themselves as millennials. (Another 33 percent are trying to sneak into Generation X, and 8 percent think they’re baby boomers.)

And only 30 percent of millennials say the generational label fits them well. That could be because millennials don’t think much of their own generation. Baby boomers and the “silent generation,” people between age 70 and 87, describe people their own age in positive terms. They describe their own generations as “responsible” and “hardworking.”

Far more millennials think their own generation is pretty awful:

No wonder they want nothing to do with the label.
