Twitter impresario and Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is circulating a doctored photo of Fox News personality Megyn Kelly posing with a billionaire Saudi prince.

Fact-checking site Snopes revealed the image as fake last summer.

The post shows a fake image of Kelly standing with Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal and a woman in traditional Islamic garb who’s purportedly the prince’s sister. The caption erroneously describes the prince as the “co-owner” of Fox News and encourages people to “Google It!”

Even the most cursory search of the Internet turns up the fact-checking site Snopes, which revealed the image had been altered to add Kelly into a scene where she was not present.
And, for the record, the prince’s Kingdom Holding has a 6.6 percent stake in 21st Century Fox, the conglomerate whose media properties include Fox News, according to regulatory filings.
Shall we say, the prince was not amused, turning to Twitter to publicly chide Trump by reminding him of all those times when Al-Waleed bailed him out.

Trump has admitted he doesn’t really bother to fact-check what he retweets.
This tweet is part of his ongoing social media assault on the Kelly, whom he recently called a “bimbo” and “lightweight.” The candidate is boycotting tonight’s Fox News Republican candidates debate, after he failed in his effort to have Kelly removed as a moderator, claiming she is “biased.”
The Twitter gaffe brought a swift round of ridicule from some quarters.
