Samsung Gear S2 Smartwatch Will Soon Work With iPhone

But it may lose some functionality versus the Android implementation.

In a departure from earlier models, Samsung made its Tizen-powered Gear S2 smartwatch work with Android phones from other manufacturers — and the company isn’t stopping there. VP Alanna Cotton just announced on stage at CES that the Gear S2 will support the iPhone later this year as well.

Cotton didn’t give a specific date or details, but it’s almost certain the Gear S2 will lose some functionality on iOS versus its Android implementation, as is the case with Android Wear and Pebble devices.
