Facebook is ramping up its e-commerce ambitions, announcing today that any business can now allow customers to make purchases right from the business’s Facebook Page. Facebook had been testing the capability with a limited set of small businesses, but is now opening it up as a tool available to all businesses globally.

The expansion is the latest move from the social network to go beyond simply being the platform on which businesses can advertise physical goods for sale to one where they can solicit orders, bookings and appointments. Facebook also recently launched the Facebook Marketplace, a competitor to Craigslist that the social network is promoting front and center in its main app.
