Salesforce cloud marketing veteran Brian Goldfarb is joining Splunk

The fast-growing enterprise company also named a new product chief.

Splunk

Brian Goldfarb, a cloud veteran who has worked at Microsoft and Google, is leaving his position at Salesforce to become chief marketing officer at Splunk, Recode has learned.

Goldfarb, who starts at Splunk Monday, said he “had an awesome run” at Salesforce, but is looking forward to bringing his big-company experience to a younger operation that is working in areas like data analytics and security.

“Security is becoming a hotter topic by the minute,” Goldfarb said.

Splunk also plans to name former Findly CEO Richard Campione as its product chief. The company went public in 2012, has more than 2,000 workers (double the number from early 2014) and has projected revenue of more than $900 million in its current fiscal year, which ends Jan. 31.
