Here’s what it’s like to ride in a self-driving Tesla

The future, everybody.

Tesla

The future!

Tesla is now building all of its cars with self-driving technology so that soon, you’ll simply be a passenger, even while sitting in the driver’s seat. On Saturday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted out a new video of the self-driving car in action, cruising down some side streets, avoiding pedestrians and carefully stopping at each and every stop sign.

It’s not the first time Musk has shared behind-the-wheel footage of Tesla’s autonomous driving technology. But this version included a few new camera angles — like rear- and front-facing cameras that show how the technology can pick up and track objects as you drive.

Tesla also changed the video’s background music. Instead of setting the video to the Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black,” the new video includes the song “Yakety Sax,” the theme song for “The Benny Hill Show,” which some of you may remember.

Basically, it feels like you’re riding in a self-driving clown car instead of a Tesla. But hey! Whatever gets you there safely, I guess.

Here’s a look at the video.
