There are 5 people alive who have ever been president. None of them voted for Trump.

There are five people alive who know what it’s like to be president of the United States.

And as best we can tell, none of them voted for Donald Trump.

Earlier this afternoon, the Texas Tribune reported that George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, voted for neither Trump nor Hillary Clinton today. “They didn’t vote for Hillary; they didn’t vote for Trump,” spokesperson Freddy Ford said. (This came after Rush Limbaugh told listeners this afternoon that Bush was voting for Clinton.)

That’s not too shocking: Bush never endorsed Trump during the campaign and refused to appear at the Republican National Convention in July. His brother Jeb was mocked and savaged by Trump all primary and also refused to endorse.

The other former Republican president, George H.W. Bush, also declined to endorse Trump this year. Back in August, Politico reported that the elder Bush was planning to vote for Clinton — though this was sourced to a family friend, and a family spokesperson refused to confirm one way or the other.

That leaves Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter — all Clinton supporters.

Trump did snag support from two former vice presidents earlier this year: Dick Cheney and Dan Quayle. But by and large, a broad swath of the Republican establishment abandoned Trump, including former nominee Mitt Romney. You can see a full list here.

Earlier this evening on MSNBC, Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, groused that the lack of establishment support was hurting the campaign: “We have former presidents not voting for us, we have former nominees not voting us — and that’s gotta hurt.”
