GoPro Is Giving You the Chance to Get, Uh, Extra Close to the Grammy Awards Tonight

One of Silicon Valley’s best qualities is that it constantly provides answers to questions that no one asked.

For instance, it’s doubtful that you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be in an awards show, from the perspective of a physical statue. But if getting intimate with LL Cool J sounds as good to you as it does to me, then you should check out the cameras GoPro installed in the bases of Grammy Awards statues for Monday night’s show.

GoPro made custom Hero cameras for six different statues that will be given out tonight. The footage will be collected during the Grammy Live Web livestream beforehand, and broadcast during the show.

The cameras will probably be swapped out before award winners return home for the night. Below, you can watch a video that shows how they assembled it. It also looks like a pretty smart way to make a hidden camera:
