Watch: Daredevil’s new season 2 trailer belongs to Elektra

On Thursday, Marvel released a new trailer for the second season of its Netflix hit Daredevil, one that primarily focuses on Elektra. Played by Elodie Yung on the TV series, Elektra Natchios is a main character — an assassin and Matt Murdock’s antihero soul mate — in the Daredevil comics.

The new trailer reveals why she’s back in his life — Daredevil’s vigilantism has solved one king-size crime problem in Hell’s Kitchen by ousting Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), but it’s also made the city more alluring for other crime organizations. Season two seems poised to test the conundrum, “Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t.”

Perhaps the best thing about the new trailer is its sampling of the new season’s fight scenes, with Daredevil and Elektra fighting alongside each other. Season one’s fight scenes were groundbreaking in their choreography, and the trailer features a glimpse or three of more on the way.

Daredevil season two premieres on Netflix on March 18.
