Super Bowl 2016: how to watch and live-stream the game (and Puppy Bowl!)

Caroline Framke
Caroline Framke wrote about culture, which usually means television. Also seen @ The A.V. Club, The Atlantic, Complex, Flavorwire, NPR, the fridge to get more seltzer.

Super Bowl 50 is upon us. It will be airing on CBS at 6:30 pm EST (3:30 pm PST) in all its bombastic and corporate-sponsored glory.

In addition to the usual television broadcast, CBS will be live-streaming this year’s game on CBSsports.com. You can also turn to the CBS Sports Channel App on your Roku, Apple TV, Xbox One and/or Windows 10 device.

So if you for some reason find yourself unable to locate a television and still want to watch the Carolina Panthers take on the Denver Broncos, or Lady Gaga take on the National Anthem, or commercials take on clichés, or Beyoncé and Bruno Mars take on official halftime act Coldplay, it’s safe to say you’re probably covered.

If none of the above interests you, though, may we suggest Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl XII? Sure, it’s a blatant grab for viewers that preys on our collective love of fuzzy adorable things, but it’s hard to get mad about a shameless ploy that has such cute results. Tune in to Animal Planet at 3 pm EST to watch Team Fluff take on Team Ruff (!!!!!!!!), or check out the live puppy cam (!!!!!!!!!) over on Animal Planet’s website.
