Oculus on Thursday did something it’s never done before: It shipped a consumer product.

CEO Brendan Iribe tweeted Thursday afternoon that the first wave of Oculus Rift devices, the company’s first virtual reality headset that went on sale back in January, has finally shipped. Users who were quick to preorder their Rift back in January should receive them beginning on Monday.

This is not a surprise — Facebook-owned Oculus told consumers in January that it would target a March ship date. Still, it’s been almost two years to the day since Facebook bought Oculus for $2 billion, so getting its product into the hands of consumers is still a milestone.

We don’t know how many units Oculus will ship. Shortly after they went on sale, the delivery date started to move. Purchases made on the website today won’t be shipped until July.
