Everything You Need to Know About Apple vs. the FBI, Explained

Your questions about the case answered on “Too Embarrassed to Ask.”

Vjeran Pavic for Re/code

Normally on Too Embarrassed to Ask, we talk about several things — like last week’s episode, which covered Snapchat and Pinterest.

Not so this week. Kara Swisher and Lauren Goode devoted the full episode to the ongoing feud between Apple and the FBI over security, privacy and encryption, which stems from the San Bernardino shootings last year that left 14 people dead and 22 injured. It’s a complex topic, and we received more questions from our listeners in advance of this episode than we have for any episode of Too Embarrassed to Ask before it.

Dawn ChmielewskiDawn Chmielewski, Re/code’s policy expert, joined Kara and Lauren via Skype this week. And also joining via Skype for the second half of the episode was Ted Boutrous, a lawyer for Apple who discussed how the tech giant is approaching the legal battle.

Thank you to everyone who submitted questions — remember that you can always send in questions about any topic to us by tweeting @LaurenGoode, @KaraSwisher or @Recode with the hashtag #AskRecode.

We have lots more podcasts for your listening pleasure. For instance, our newest show, Re/code Media with Peter Kafka, features in-depth no-BS interviews with the most interesting people in the media world. Click here to subscribe to Re/code Media right now on iTunes.
