Four more states headed to the polls Tuesday. Both parties have primaries in Michigan and Mississippi, and only Republicans are holding a primary in Idaho and caucuses in Hawaii.
Elections 2016: results in Michigan, Mississippi, Idaho, and Hawaii

Now, tonight’s results likely won’t have massive delegate implications. But political junkies will be watching avidly to see what these states might tell us about next week’s extremely consequential winner-take-all Republican contests. Is Donald Trump stumbling? Is Marco Rubio in free fall? Can Ted Cruz capitalize on his stronger-than-expected performance last Saturday? Here are the latest results:
Mississippi primaries
Democratic outcome: Hillary Clinton has beaten Sanders in a blowout. With more than 90 percent of the vote in, she was ahead of him by 67(!) points.
Republican outcome: Donald Trump won a solid victory, with about 48 percent of the vote compared with Ted Cruz’s 36 percent. John Kasich and Marco Rubio were far back, with about 9 percent and 5 percent each.
Michigan primaries
Democratic outcome: Bernie Sanders won a 2-point victory over Hillary Clinton, which was narrow yet truly shocking, since Clinton had led most recent polls by 20 points or so.
Republican outcome: Donald Trump won with about 37 percent of the vote. Ted Cruz and John Kasich were close to each other, with 25 percent and 24 percent of the vote, respectively, at press time. Marco Rubio was far back with just 9 percent.
Idaho primary
Who’s voting? Republicans
Republican outcome: Ted Cruz won. He got 45 percent of the vote to Donald Trump’s 28 percent. Marco Rubio and John Kasich were far back with 16 percent and 7 percent, respectively.
Hawaii caucuses
Republican outcome: Donald Trump won with 42 percent of the vote. Ted Cruz came in second with 33 percent, and Marco Rubio, with 13 percent, came in a distant third.
