Caitlyn Jenner used the ladies’ room at a Trump hotel: “By the way, Ted, nobody got molested”

E!

After Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he doesn’t care which bathroom Caitlyn Jenner chooses to use at one of his establishments, Jenner, a trans woman, put Trump’s comment to the test.

Jenner posted a video on Facebook of herself using the ladies’ room at Trump International Hotel in New York City this week, taking a stand against recent discriminatory legislation that passed in North Carolina, which requires transgender people to use bathrooms or locker rooms in schools and government agencies based on the gender assigned on their birth certificates.

“Thank you, Donald, really appreciate it. And by the way, Ted [Cruz], nobody got molested,” Jenner said at the end of the video.

Jenner, a Republican, has yet to formally endorse a candidate, but has said she would love to be Ted Cruz’s trans ambassador, “round up her girls” — the trans women on her TV show I Am Cait — and serve on a hypothetical “trans issues board,” in an interview with the Advocate before the North Carolina law made headlines.

“I like Ted Cruz,” Jenner said. “I think he’s very conservative and a great constitutionalist and a very articulate man. I haven’t endorsed him or anything like that. But I also think, he’s an evangelical Christian, and probably one of the worst ones when it comes to trans issues.”

She’s right. Cruz has been a fervent supporter of the North Carolina bill, having said multiple times that it is “dangerous” to allow a transgender people to use bathrooms on the basis of their gender identity.

“Let me make this real, real simple for folks in the media who find this conversation very confusing,” Cruz said on the campaign trail. “If Donald Trump dresses up as Hillary Clinton, he still can’t go to the girls’ bathroom!”

But Trump has been more critical of the law, citing the “economic punishment,” and fallout North Carolina has seen since passing the legislation.

“North Carolina did something [that] was very strong, and they’re paying a big price, and there’s a lot of problems,” Trump said on the Today show. “There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate, there has been so little trouble.”

And Trump kept to his word: Jenner walked into the ladies’ room and no one said a thing.
